Pirates sized tug boat Svitzer Korsakov in the Gulf of Aden

The Russian tug boat Svitzer Korsakov signaled the pirate attack on February 1, 2008 at 1:17 pm from the Gulf of Aden. The Svitzer Korsakov, sailing under the flag of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, was on her way to the Russian Far Eastern Island of Sakhalin through Singapore before being sized by pirates off the coast of Somalia. The crew consists of two British (the captain and senior mechanic) and four Russian nationals. Maritime surveillance indicated that the pirates have changed course towards Mogadishu where it arrived on Sunday, February 3, 2008. No demands have been issued at this time.
