Sydney's Farmers Market to move due to Cruise Ship Security Concerns
Cruise ship security regulations at Sydney Marine Terminal during busy cruise ship season caused Sydney’s Cape Breton Farmers Market to look for anothor location. According to one vendor, the security requirements during the cruise ship season would make it impossible for a market with walk-in customers to function.
Regulations would include vendors to unload their vehicles before 7 a.m., remove them to a corner of the property and not load up again until 2:30 or 3 p.m. Moreover, customers could not park around the building and would require picture ID to enter the market where they would possibly be subjected to searches.
