Egypt to install surveillance cameras along the Suez Canal
Following the security incident that cost the live of one and injured two, Egypt plans to install surveillance cameras along the Suez Canal to increase its maritime security. The cameras together with the already installed radar system will provide security authorities with better surveillance capabilities of the canal. The Suez Canal is Egypt’s third largest source of revenue after tourism and remittances. Currently about 7.5 percent of global trade passes through it.
