Fairfax-based Argon ST Inc has received $29.8 million in federal contracts for defense systems and upgrades for maritime intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance. Argon designs, develops and manufactures electronic intelligence systems, communications systems and airborne imaging systems. The company serves domestic and worldwide command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance markets. President and chief operating officer Kerry Rowe said that “We are proud of this award as it is a vote of confidence for both the personnel involved as well as the technology we have designed and are deploying”.
In other news: Port Security Unit 311 returned home from a seven month deployment to Kuwait on July 1, 2009. PSU 311 was stationed at Kuwaiti Naval Base, Kuwait, providing shore-side and marine security for the base in cooperation with the U.S. Navy Maritime Security Squadron One.
