Maritime Security Conference: Maritime Security in the 21st Century

The Atlantic Council and the U.S. Naval War College will jointly sponsor a conference on October 14 , 2009 on the challenges and opportunities for maritime security cooperation with a keynote address by the Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Gary Roughead.
The conference will examine the drivers of maritime insecurity, assess ongoing coalition maritime operations, share lessons learned from maritime security actors and identify challenges to and opportunities for cooperation that include policy, technical, cultural and legal aspects, with a special emphasis on information sharing in operations and maritime domain awareness.

- Strategic Approaches to Maritime Security
- Working Lunch on International Cooperation in Maritime Security
- Lessons Learned From Current Maritime Security Operations
- Information Sharing and Maritime Domain Awareness
