Somali pirates took over French luxury cruise yacht, Le Ponant, in the Gulf of Aden on Friday March 4, 2008. The pirates are currently holding 30 crew members hostage, no passengers were on board. Fox News reported that U.S. warships fired on Somali pirates trying to resupply colleagues on the hijacked a Danish owned tug boat Svitzer Korsakov. The Svitzer Korsakov with its six hostages is currently stationed 25 miles east of Ely, a coastal town 560 miles north of Mogadishu, Somalia.
